This Return and Refund Policy explains how BuildGear Nigeria Limited handles returns, replacements, refunds, damaged goods, wrong items, incomplete orders, warranty-related matters, and pre-order cancellations for purchases made through the BuildGear website, WhatsApp, bank transfer, Paystack, or cash on site.

This policy applies to eligible products purchased from BuildGear and is designed to ensure a fair process for customers while protecting BuildGear from misuse, fraud, and unreasonable return requests.

3. Order Channels Covered

This policy applies to orders placed through any of the following channels:

• The BuildGear website and checkout page.

• WhatsApp enquiries and WhatsApp-assisted purchases.

• Bank transfer payments.

• Paystack online payments.

• Customer pickup and nationwide delivery orders.

4. Return Request Window

Customers must report eligible return, replacement, or refund issues within 24 to 48 hours after receiving the product or collecting it from BuildGear. Requests made after this period may be declined unless the issue is covered by a valid manufacturer warranty or another lawful obligation.

5. Eligible Reasons for Return or Replacement

Returns or replacements may be accepted only where the product is:

• Defective at the time of delivery or pickup.

• Damaged during delivery.

• Wrongly supplied or different from the item ordered.

• Incomplete, missing essential parts, or materially different from the product description.

• Covered by a valid manufacturer warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

BuildGear does not accept returns simply because a customer changed their mind, selected the wrong product, no longer needs the product, or found another supplier after purchase.

6. Condition for Accepted Returns

To qualify for return, replacement, repair, or refund assessment, the product must generally be:

• Unused, uninstalled, and not damaged by the customer.

• Returned in its original packaging, with accessories, manuals, seals, tags, parts, and any included items.

• Supported by a valid invoice, receipt, order confirmation, transaction reference, or proof of purchase.

• Returned within the required 24 to 48-hour reporting window, except for approved warranty cases.

BuildGear may inspect returned products before approving any replacement, repair, store credit, or refund.

7. Non-Returnable Items

The following items may not be accepted for return unless they are defective, damaged during delivery, wrongly supplied, or otherwise required by law:

• Electrical components, sockets, switches, MCBs, cables, installation devices, lighting items, and similar products once opened, installed, connected, modified, or used.

• Cut-to-size materials, measured items, customised items, special-order items, or products supplied according to a customer’s specific request.

• Consumables, accessories, discs, blades, tapes, adhesives, sealants, levelling items, PPE, or similar items once opened or used.

• Products damaged by improper installation, misuse, negligence, poor storage, unauthorised repair, wrong voltage, wrong application, or normal wear and tear.

• Clearance, discounted, promotional, or final-sale items, unless defective or wrongly supplied.

8. Damaged Products During Delivery

If a product is damaged during delivery, BuildGear will assess the issue and, where confirmed, replace the damaged item. Customers should report delivery damage within 24 to 48 hours of receipt and provide reasonable evidence such as photos, videos, delivery details, order number, invoice, or receipt.

9. Wrong, Incomplete, or Defective Products

Where BuildGear supplies the wrong product, an incomplete product, or a product confirmed to be defective at delivery or pickup, BuildGear may replace the item, provide the missing part, repair the item where appropriate, or issue a refund after inspection and approval.

10. Warranty Handling

Some products may be covered by manufacturer warranty. Warranty eligibility, duration, coverage, exclusions, repair process, replacement process, and approved service procedure may depend on the relevant manufacturer or distributor.

For eligible power tools, machinery, electrical devices, and related items, BuildGear may offer repair, replacement, or manufacturer warranty support instead of a cash refund, depending on the product condition, warranty terms, manufacturer assessment, and applicable law.

11. Return Delivery Costs

If a return is caused by customer error, including wrong product selection, wrong specification, wrong quantity, wrong address, or any issue not caused by BuildGear, the customer will be responsible for return delivery or logistics costs.

If a return is caused by BuildGear’s error, including wrong item supplied, confirmed defect at delivery, incomplete order, or delivery damage confirmed as not caused by the customer, BuildGear will be responsible for reasonable return delivery or replacement delivery costs.

12. Refund Method and Processing Time

Approved refunds will be processed within 3 to 7 working days after BuildGear has received, inspected, and approved the returned item or confirmed that a refund is due.

To reduce fraud risk, refunds will be made through the same payment method used for the original transaction where possible. Paystack payments will generally be refunded through the Paystack-related payment channel. Bank transfer payments will be refunded to the verified bank account linked to the customer/order. Cash payments may require proof of identity, receipt, and verification before refund.

Shipping fees, logistics charges, payment processing fees, or other service charges may not be refundable unless the refund is caused by BuildGear’s error or applicable law requires otherwise.

13. Pre-Order Cancellation

Pre-order items may be cancelled only if the order has not yet been shipped, dispatched, specially procured, imported, processed, or otherwise acted upon by BuildGear or its supplier. Once a pre-order has been shipped or processed, cancellation may be refused except where the item is defective, unavailable, wrongly supplied, or another lawful reason applies.

14. Discounted or Clearance Items

Discounted, promotional, clearance, or final-sale items are generally not eligible for return or refund unless they are defective, damaged during delivery, wrongly supplied, incomplete, or otherwise required to be accepted under applicable law.
